A black & white photography series.

|" Yang Mesra" |

This series was done in 2014. Shot in her hometown - Johor Bahru. The project aims to document the diverse array of traditional trades that keeps Malaysia's multi-ethnic society buzzing with life. The ever hospitable spirit of its people is yet another draw factor that time and again propels her back to this town where she had been compelled to leave such a long time ago.

With each photograph, she had without exception sought permission for these shots from these generous individuals, who also kindly shared with her insights into their respective lives.

Shot on Nikon FM2 and Ilford HP5 400 35mm, developed with Ilford Multigrade Deluxe RC Pearl and Kodak T-Max Developer, as part of her experiment with analogue photography and the dark room process.
